Litter, Detective!
A downloadable conversation game
Litter, Detective!
THE OBJECT OF THE CRIME IS THE SUBJECT OF YOUR CASE
🚯 Take a walk with Litter, Detective!, a short conversation game that invites two or more players on a stroll through the woods to examine the trash they dicover just off the path and extrapolate the most ridiculous yet technically plausible story of how it ended up there and who brought it, inviting perspectives on local community, the context of its habits and littering.
It achieves these lofty goals through laughter and surprise, while re-teaching a new definition for the scope of a "game of make believe" and its ability to educate through play – and giving players a good excuse to clean up their environment while having fun!
Litter, Detective! was written on a typewriter and presented using graphics scanned from a reproduction of the 1917 trench newspaper The Wiper's Times, to be printed and folded to the size of a business card and kept in a purse or wallet.
For this reason the game is not screen-reader friendly, but I've included a text-only epub and plain-text version of the game for anyone who needs it.
CONTENT WARNING: if you intend to play Litter, Detective! with a child, you might want to scout out the play area in advance – part of the reason this game works is that you can find some very strange litter in the woods, and as I'm sure you can imagine it's not always child-friendly (or anyone-friendly for that matter).
